Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By adding Vela to a Discord server, using any of its commands, or accessing the Vela web dashboard at velabot.xyz, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must remove Vela from your server and discontinue use of the dashboard immediately.

These Terms apply to all users of Vela — including server owners, administrators, and individual members who interact with the bot in any server it has been added to.

2. Description of Service

Vela is a Discord bot and associated web dashboard that provides server management features including, but not limited to:

Automated moderation (heat system, word filter, AI content analysis)
XP and leveling system with rank cards
Ticket and support panel management
Giveaway management
Server logging (joins, leaves, message edits, bans, etc.)
Invite tracking
Rank card customization
Embed broadcasting
Welcome message configuration

Vela is provided as-is. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Vela, in accordance with Discord's own Terms of Service. By using Vela you represent that you meet this requirement.

You must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times while using this service.

4. Permitted Use

You may use Vela solely for its intended purpose of managing and enhancing a Discord server that you own or have administrator permission in. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Vela complies with all applicable laws and Discord's policies.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Vela to:

Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm any person or group
Distribute illegal content, spam, or unsolicited messages
Attempt to bypass, exploit, or reverse-engineer the bot or dashboard
Automate interactions with the bot in ways not intended by its design
Use moderation features to unfairly target or discriminate against users on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexuality, or other protected characteristics
Impersonate Vela staff, other users, or misrepresent your affiliation with the service
Use the service in any way that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate removal of Vela from your server and permanent denial of access to the dashboard.

6. Server Owner Responsibility

The person who adds Vela to a Discord server (the "server owner" or "administrator") is solely responsible for how Vela is configured and used within that server. This includes, but is not limited to, moderation settings, welcome messages, logging configurations, and ticket panels.

Vela's developer is not responsible for any disciplinary actions taken by Vela against members of your server as a result of your chosen configuration.

7. Data Collection & Privacy

By using Vela you consent to the collection and processing of data as described in our Privacy Policy. We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, designs, graphics, and content associated with Vela — including the bot, the dashboard at velabot.xyz, and all associated branding — are the intellectual property of Vela's developer. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership, license, or rights to that property beyond what is necessary to use the service as intended.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to remove Vela from any server, revoke dashboard access, or otherwise terminate your access to the service at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.

You may terminate your use of Vela at any time by removing the bot from your server and ceasing use of the dashboard. Upon removal, your data is retained per our Privacy Policy but is no longer actively used.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Vela is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees about uptime, feature availability, or the accuracy of any automated moderation decisions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vela's developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service — including but not limited to lost data, incorrect moderation actions, missed events, or server disruptions.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, as Vela is currently free to use, is zero).

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vela's developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will post a notice in the Vela support server. Continued use of Vela after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vela's developer is based, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.
